I have added the classic work Fishing at Home and Abroad (1913) by Sir Herbert Maxwell to the Classic Books page.  You may access a .pdf copy of the book here.

Here is a quick link to the Classic Books Page.

Enjoy immersing yourself in some of the classic writing of our sport.

FlyTyingClub.org

Posted by nwflytyer on May 16, 2010

I would like to call your attention to a fantastic fly tying website: FlyTyingClub.org. It has all kinds of articles, patterns, videos, and a whole lot more for fly tyers of all kinds. You owe it to yourself to check it out.

I am proud to announce my participation as a columnist specializing in Salmon Flies. It’s not a moneyed venture or anything for me, just a chance to be a part of some passionate tyers pooling their knowledge and sharing with others. All this under the creative direction of publisher and webmaster Terry Dunford.

So look for “Monte’s Mind’s Eye on the Salmon Fly” at FlyTyingClub.org and keep watching NW FlyTyer for future changes. I will be adding and updating more things here to make this an even better resource for tyers. Stay tuned!

Classic Books Library

Posted by nwflytyer on February 14, 2010

I would like to call your attention to a new page that I have added to NW FlyTyer. It is a collection of classic fly tying and fishing texts that are available for free download (they’re in .pdf format). These are public domain texts that are free of copyright, and made available by the good people at Google Books and archive.org.

Classics by Blacker, Pryce-Tannatt, Kelson, Pritt, Francis Francis and many more are available on this new page.
