Well, it’s getting to be that time of year again.  Fleeting glimpses of Spring, bouts of sunshine amidst the rain showers of late winter. The stirrings of anglers everywhere getting ready to get out and fish the first good hatches of the new season.

March 13th & 14th are the dates for this year’s NW Fly Tyer and Fly Fishing Expo at the Linn County Fairgrounds in Albany, OR.  This is the third year in the new facility – after a number of years in Eugene – and it always proves to be a good show.  Tyers galore giving free demonstrations!  Free seminars.  Inexpensive tying and casting classes.  Vendors there to offer the latest materials and gear.  Mark your calendars for this year’s event.  It promises to be a good one.

Regrettably, I am probably going to miss the show this year.   My normal tying demo and a Classic Streamer class I planned to teach are out the window!  After many years of participating, I’m going to miss one.  And that pains me.  But suffice it to say that I am much better off having to miss this year’s Expo than if I had the kind of full-time, free time it looked like I might have in March.  I’ll be back next year!

So get out to the Linn County Fairgrounds March 13 & 14 and get ready for a great fishing season.  Enjoy!
